Ho-lee Shist, Funcom… You Got Me!

So I haven’t been too big of Funcom’s in the past. Anarchy Online couldn’t keep me interested, Age of Conan just doesn’t interest me, Longest Journey was definitely not my cup of whiskey, and I don’t really know anything about Dreamfall. So there wasn’t a lot they brought to the table that held my interest. Not saying they’re a bad company or anything; just that what they were involved in didn’t interest me.
Until now.
Dark Days Are Coming has completely, utterly, and totally hooked it’s claws into me. It’s the whole ARG angle that has me. There’s nothing I love more than a good set of puzzles (and/or riddles), and DDAC has launched with all the intrigue you might expect via a mysterious “poem” posted at Eurogamer.
Unfortunately I’m at work right now and can’t decipher the clues, although I have figured out what it is I need to do. I just don’t have photoshop right now (and I’m not reading spoilers, it’s more fun this way!).
Oh. That was probably a spoiler. Well, there you go, your first clue, courtesy of me.
The setting really interests me – it’s sort of World of Darkness (when it was still good) meets Harry Dresden (the books, not so much the show) meets Men In Black (only minus Will Smith and the sucking).
I’m really looking forward to seeing what they do to continue building interest in the game. Hopefully they keep up the fun ARG stuff!

I’ll have to take a look at it. Longest Journey and Dreamfall (it’s sequel) have really, really good stories and a pretty smart-ass sense of humor. My wife actually was the one who played them, but I got so hooked into the story that I’d quit playing a game I was messing with the listen and look on.

Ran across something surprising today and it reminded me of you. Namely your Gillian Anderson facination of ages past. Turns out she finally bared the mamarries for an upcoming film called “Straightheads”. Its some quasi-cheesey revenge flick from the UK that’s likely going straight to video here in the US.

Isn’t each line just an anagram of Dark Days are Coming? Granted I haven’t done the math but that’s what my hasty diagnosis is.
