This Is A Joke, Right?

I’ll be the first to admit I fall for the most blatant of pranks like a good chump that I am. But c’mon – this (NOT SAFE FOR WORK!) can’t possibly be real, can it? I spotted it on Clyde’s blog and I’ve been trying to figure out if it’s a joke or really happened. I mean, look, I’m as much a meat lover as anyone – but I kind of draw the line at eating that meat from a still-warm carcass.
I’m all for wacky hijinks to promote games. But Sony – what the fuck were you thinking? In what part of your PS3-addled brain did this make even the slightest of sense? You’ve certainly pulled some bone-headed moves since the inception of the PS3, but I think this takes the cake offal.
So who’s going to enlighten me as to this being a prank?

As a publicity stunt, yes, I can see how tasteless that may be to some. But the way that article talks about the “outrage” fezt everywhere… And pixelating the image to spare me the “horror”? Horror of a dead goat? There are unbelievably worse acts being committed right now in my town to innocent people and cops that should be getting THAT kind of attention from authorities, but sadly isn’t.
I suppose people need to start putting terms like “horror” and “outrage” back into perspective.

I heard that the goat was a prop, but I have no links with which to corroborate this rumor.
I can, however, say that if it wasn’t a prop, there aren’t any words for it other than stupid. Animals are slaughtered for the hell of it all the time by hunters and kids with pocket knives and nobody pitches a fit, so why should anybody care that someone does it for a party?
On the flip side, why would a company be so ignorant as to think such a stunt wouldn’t have tidal waves of backlash? They should be sent through the ringer, if only for the principle of the thing. You can’t be that stupid and get away with it.
But I’m thinking it was probably just a prop…I can’t comprehend such a big company like Sony doing something so…completely stupid.

I read about this on Gamespot. The Goat is not a prob. They returned it to the butcher after the party whom they received it from.
All in all though, dead goats, topless women, God of War II, lol, I wish I was at the party

So, another item to add to the list of “What Sony has done to make themselves look like complete idiots.” I have to say I didn’t think they’d go so far as to slaughter an animal and feast on its raw innards as a publicity stunt. Topless women, yes, but what do slaughtered goats even have to do with the God of War franchise anyways? I’ve played ‘em both, and I’ve seen more topless women, slaughtered…eh…armor cladded amalgamations, topless women, and slaughtered HUMANS — and did I mention topless women — than slaughtered goats. Honestly, they should have beheaded a translator or something…that would have had much more significance to the plost.
…
…what?
It’s a goat right? Who gives a shit? When a goat creates an an affordable, practical personal hovercraft, yeah, i’ll care then. Until then, fuck it, it’s a GOAT! I wish they’d have used a litter of kittens, now THAT woulda gotten some righteous press. Tree huggin hippies.
Peace and love be with you, HJ
