Howdy Folks

Here we are again, going through changes. But I'm pretty pleased to announce that these changes are good changes, despite what it might seem. Granted, there are some changes some folks might not like, but you can't please everyone, yadda yadda.

For starters, N3 is gone. Yup, that quickly! Why didn't I give anyone more warning? Well, it's a simple reason: you know how sometimes you'll be talking with someone about those "old days" and how brilliant something was? Like telling your friends how hilarious a movie from your youth was, but when you finally break down and watch it again, it's actually pretty dumb?

Yeah, see, this way we can all be convinced that N3 was BRILLIANT! Chock FULL of comedy and wit! And what will there be to contradict it?

Also, I just don't have time to write any more. Things are moving ahead for Kwipette and I. She is doing fantastic with her new medication (Tysabri), and has really improved. She's home from the nursing home and working hard at physical therapy. She's even managed to take a few steps! With that, we're in the running for a state grant to rennovate our bathroom to make it handicapped accessible. And along those lines, I've begun doing a LOT of work on the house (which my back will testify for!). That's not leaving much free time. I barely have enough time to game, let alone write about how much I suck at those games.

And let's be honest, here: I haven't been drawing folks in by the hordes in quite some time. And that's okay - everything has a cycle. My heyday was a decade ago. Can you believe that? Over ten years ago, I got started writing for Vig Neo - I don't even remember the name of his site anymore. Shortly after that, I started N3. Allen Grey gave me a shot over at Crossroads of Dereth, which was a dream - that was the same site my hero, Pyreal Rat, had started out at! It got to be too much of course, but that was quite a heady time for me.

I returned to focusing on my little site. I branched out to other games. Then I tricked convinced Kaigon to come on board. There were various experiments in branching out that never really bore fruit. Except for Team N3RD, which continues to be one of the greatest things I've ever been a part of. Even though we took a break this year, we'll be back next year with our silly antics, don't worry.

Finally came the N3RDCast - first dragging HappyJack on board, then completing our Triumvirate with Dr. Sexy.

The point is, N3 has had a good run. I'm forever grateful for the incredibly cool people I've gotten to know over the years through this site. We've had so many laughs, fun times, and even shared heartbreaks, but they all hold special places in my heart. For all of you that have been there for even the smallest part, I thank you. Hopefully you'll have a lot of good memories about N3, and I hope you remember them as fondly as I do.

Thank you for the ride,
Shawn "Kwip" Williams
