Today’s interview is with Allan Maki, a Content Designer for Lord of the Rings: Online at Turbine, Inc. Allan’s a hilarious guy, and we probably could’ve talked about George RR Martin books alone for several hours. However, we were professional, and instead talked about important things, like Boffer Larping, Settlers, and Death Tank.

    Just a note about killing off characters:

    Way back when Lucas was putting together the cast for Episode VI, Harrison Ford was staunchly against bringing Han Solo back. He was utterly convinced that Solo should be killed off.

    So Allan Maki is in the same mental space as pre-nineties Harrison Ford. Take from that what you will.

    I couldn’t stop laughing when Allan was talking about getting shot as he walked out the office door. Great interview. Not to mention the bit about LARPing and losing a spleen.

    Another good intervoew. PS there is a Rumor of a Lotro gathering in August. I have not heard anything regarding an AC gathering.
