Comics N3RDCast 05 July, 2010: Fictorious Webcomicking

We know the great work The Fictory has produced with the animated short for American Terror: Company Man and the upcoming Atomic Robo: Last Stop, but they’re branching out their talented team into the realm of webcomics with today’s launch of The Fictory Comics. We sat down with Joe Krzemienski, Jeff McComsey, Jeff Rummel from the Fictory to discuss their comics (and the platforms they’ll be using) for this new arena. It was such an exciting topic, it drug HappyJack and Dr. Sexy out of hiding to visit the Fictory Studios in person!
And of course WordPress 3 comes up right away. Being the devote WordPresser that I am, I definitely think this is the way to go.
I’m not quite as familiar with Webcomic as I am with ComicPress (but not really knowing either, in all honesty), so I’m eager to see what Jeff can do with this plugin.
When it comes to site design, I was recently turned on to Scenes from a Multiverse (not “Multiverse” as I refer to it on the show) by the talented Jonathan Rosenberg – again, not Scott Rosenberg nor Joel Rosenberg. Frankly I’m just happy I got part of the name right.
And of course if we’re talking awesome site design, I have to plug Justin over at Chipmunk Bay, because (despite what he says), that’s still my favorite design. Well, next to the design he did for us here at N3, of course…
Dr. Bruce from the KomicsKast has chimed in previously about comics on the iPad, but I don’t think I’m going to be happy until I get him down here to Dutch country so I can get my grubby paws on his iPad and gum it all up. And possibly look at comics on it myself. I know in the Apple store I fell in love with regular books on the iPad, so I can only imagine how sexy comics must be – granted, they’d be a LOT more sexier if Marvel and DC had ANY sense with their pricing…
